GENERAL INFORMATION
PASSPORT AND VISA
All foreigners wishing to enter Indonesia must have a passport valid for at least 06(six) months from the date of arrival with proof(tickets) of onward or return passage
VISA Free Tourist Visa
The immigration authorities provide free tourists visa for period of 30days to nationals of 11 countires, they are : Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, The Philippines, Hngkong Special Administrative Region (SAR), Macao SAR, Chile, Morocco, Peru and Vietnam.
VISA Visa on Arrival
Voa is given to nationals rom 63 countries, they are South Africa,Aljazair,United States,Argentina,
,Australia,Austria,Bahrain,Belgia,Netherland,Brasilia,Bulgaria,Cheko,Cyprus,Denmark,Emirates Arab,Estonia,Fiji,Finland,Hongaria,India,United Kingdom,Iran,Irlandia,Islandia,Italy,Japan,German
Kampuchea,Canada,South Korea,Kuwait,Laos,Latvia,Libya,Liechtenstein,Lithuania,Luxemburg,
Maladewa,Malta,Mexico,Egypt,Monaco,Norwegia,Oman,Panama,France,Poland,Portugal,Qatar,
RRC,Rumania,Rusia,Saudi Arabia,New Zealand,Slovakia,Slovenia,Spain,Suriname,Swedia,Swiss,Taiwan,
Tunisia,Yunani.
The visa on arrival fee are classified into two : USD 10 for maximum 07 days visit and USD 30 for maximum stay of 30 days.
Other nationals who are not mentioned above must apply for a visa at Indonesian Embassies or Counsulates in their home country.
CUSTOMS
Customs allow on entry a maximum of one liter of alcoholic liquor, 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 100 gras of tobacco and reasonable amount of perfume per adult. Photopgraphic equipments, typewriters, recorders must be declared to custom upon entry and be re-exported. Prohibited from entry are TV sets, radios, narcotics, arm and ammunition, printed matter in Chinese character and Chinese medicines. Advance approval must be acquired for transceivers. Fresh fruit, plants and animals must have quarantine permits. There is no restriction on import export of Indonesian currency exceeding IDR 5.000.000
AIRPORT TAX
An airport departure tax of IDR 100.000, is levied by the airport authority for travelers on international flights and IDR 30.000 for domestic flights. The tax must be paid in Rupiah.
GREETING SERVICE
On 14th September 2008, a conference information desk and staff will be available at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport after custom counters at arrival hall ( in front of HOKA HOKA BENTO RESTAURANT )
This desk will operate from the first until the last flight (according to the list of participants)for these dates only.

Jakarta is warm to hot year round since it lies 6 degrees below the equator, average temperature vary from 28 32 C
LANGUAGE
Bahasa Indonesia is the national language, but English is widely spoken.
CURRENCY
Only rupiah (Indonesian currency) is acceptable at regular stores and restaurants. Most hotels, restaurants and souvenirs shops accept certain foreign currencies and credit cards.
The Indonsian Rupiah is available in note denominations of 100.000 ; 50.000 ; 20.000 ; 10.000 ; 5.000 ; 1.000 .
Coins are available in denomination of 1.000 ; 500 ; 200 ; 100 ; 50 ; 25. You can buy Rupiah at foreign exchange banks and other authorized moneychangers on presentation of your passport. The exchange rate fluctuates regularly.
TRAVELERS CHECK AND CREDIT CARDS
Travelers checks are accepted by leading banks and hotel in priicipal cities. The use of travelers checks in Indonesia is as popular as in any other countries. Diners Club, American Express, Visa and Master card are widely accepted at hotels, department stores, shops, restaurants . According to the
TIPPING
This is not a general practice in Indonesia, in the larger hotels a servie charge is already included. In smaller hotels and restaurants tips are not expected. However, if the service has been good, a token of IDR 5.000 would be appreciated. Porters at the airport should received min IDR 5.000 per bag depending on the size.
ELECETRIC CURRENT
The electric in use throughout Indonesia is 220volt 50cycles. In hotels, though, you may find two sockets for 110 and 220volt each; or a converter may be obtained through the housekeeping.
