You, the Charismatic Renewal, have received a great gift from the Lord.

Kalian, Pembaruan Karismatik Katolik, telah menerima karunia yang luar biasa dari Tuhan

Your movement’s birth was willed by the Holy Spirit to be “a current of grace in the Church and for the Church”.

Kelahiran gerakan ini dikehendaki oleh Roh Kudus untuk menjadi rahmat terkini di dalam Gereja dan untuk Gereja

This is your identity: to be a current of grace.

When I think of Charismatics, I think of Church herself, but in a particular way…

Saat saya berpikir tentang Karismatik, saya berpikir tentang Gereja itu sendiri, tetapi dalam rupa yang khusus

I think of great orchestra, where all the instruments and voices are different from one another yet all are needed to create the harmony of the music.

Saya terbayang akan orkestra yang megah, dimana semua instrumen dan suara berbeda satu dgn yg lain namun semua dibutuhkan untuk menciptakan musik yang harmonis.

In the first years of the Charismatic Renewal in Buenos Aires, I didn’t care very much for Charismatics.

Dalam tahun pertama saya terlibat dengan Pembaruan Karismatik di Buenos Aires, saya sama sekali tidak peduli.

I used to think: “They strike me as some kind of samba school!”

Dulu saya berpikir: “Mereka mengesankan saya seperti sekolah samba!”

I didn’t share their style of prayer or the many new things which were happening in the Church.

Saya tidak turut dalam gaya berdoa mereka atau banyak hal baru yang sedang berlangsung di Gereja.

Later, I got to know them and I finally realized all the good that the Charismatic Renewal was doing for the Church.

Belakangan, saya memahami mereka dan akhirnya menyadari semua yang baik yang Pembaruan Karismatik sdg lakukan untuk Gereja.

And this story which began with the “samba school” had an unexpected ending: a few months before entering the conclave, I was named the spiritual assistant for the Charismatic Renewal in Argentina by the Conference of Bishops.

Dan cerita ini yang dimulai dengan “sekolah samba” berakhir tidak terduga: beberapa bulan sebelum kanklaf (pemilihan Paus), saya ditunjuk menjadi penasihat rohani Pembaruan Karismatik Argentina oleh Konferensi Wali Gereja.

The Charismatic Renewal is a great force meant to serve the preaching of the Gospel in the joy of the Holy Spirit.

Pembaruan Karismatik adalah kekuatan yg dasyat dalam melayani pemberitaan Injil dalam suka cita Roh Kudus

They asked me to tell you what the pope expects of you.

Mereka meminta saya untuk mengatakan kepada kalian apa yang Paus harapkan

The first thing is conversion to the love of Jesus which changes our lives and makes each Christian a witness to God’s love.

Yang pertama adalah pertobatan kepada kasih Yesus yang mengubah hidup kita dan membuat tiap umat Kristiani menjadi saksi kasih Allah.

I expect you to share with everyone in the Church the grace of baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Saya berharap kalian membagikan rahmat baptisan Roh Kudus kepada setiap orang dalam Gereja

(a phrase we find in the Acts of the Apostles).(Ungkapan yg kita temukan di Kisah Para Rasul)

I expect you to evangelize with the word of God, which proclaims that Jesus lives and that He loves all men and women.

Saya berharap kalian menginjili dgn Firman Tuhan, yang menyatakan bhw Yesus hidup dan Dia mengasihi kita semua laki2 maupun wanita.

To give a witness of spiritual ecumenism to all our brothers and sisters of other Churches and Christian communities who believe in Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

Memberikan kesaksian akan semangat ekumene bagi semua saudara-i kita dari Gereja lain dan komunitas Kristiani lainnya yang percaya bahwa Yesus adalah Tuhan dan Juruselamat

Be close to the poor and to those in need, so as to touch in their flesh the wounded flesh of Jesus.

Dekatlah kepada mereka yang miskin dan mereka yang membutuhkan, ini sama seperti menjamah  tubuh Yesus yang terluka dalam tubuh mereka

Please, draw near to them!

Tolong, dekatkanlah dirimu kepada mereka!

Seek unity in the Renewal, because unity comes from the Holy Spirit and is born of the unity of the Trinity.

Usahakanlah kesatuan dalam Pembaruan, karena kesatuan datang dari Roh Kudus dan dilahirkan dari kesatuan Trinitas

Flee from all infighting, please!

Tolong, hindarilah semua perselisihan...!

Let there be none of this among you!

Janganlah ada seperti ini diantara kalian!

I wish to thank ICCRS and Catholic Fraternity, the two Bodies of pontifical right which are at the service of the worldwide Renewal and are entrusted with preparing the world meeting of Priests and Bishops in June of next year.

Saya ingin berterimakasih kepada ICCRS dan Catholic Fraternity, dua Badan Kepausan yang melayani Pembaruan di seluruh dunia dan diberikan kepercayaan untuk mempersiapkan pertemuan dunia para imam dan uskup di bulan Juni tahun depan

Brothers and sisters, remember: Worship the Lord your God

Saudara dan saudari, ingatlah: Sembahlah Tuhan, Allahmu.

This is fundamental!

Ini sangat mendasar!

Worship God.

SembahlahTuhan

Seek holiness in the new life of the Holy Spirit.

Kejarlah kesucian melalui hidup baru dalam Roh Kudus

Be dispensers of the grace of God.

Jadilah saluran berkat Tuhan

Avoid the danger of excessive organization.

Hindari bahaya hal-hal buruk dalam organisasi

Go out into the streets and evangelize.

Pergilah ke semua jalan dan lintasan (bdk. Luk 14:23) dan wartakanlah kabar gembira

Proclaim the Gospel.

Beritakanlah Injil

Seek unity in the Renewal, the unity which comes from the Trinity!

Kejarlah kesatuan dalam Pembaruan, kesatuan yang berasal dari Trinitas!

And I am waiting for all of you, Charismatics the world over, to celebrate with the Pope your Great Jubilee on the feast of Pentecost 2017 in Saint Peter’s square!

Dan saya menunggu kalian semua, Karismatik di seluruh dunia, untuk merayakan bersama Paus, Yubilium Agung kalian, pada pesta Pentakosta 2017 di Alun-alun Santo Petrus (Vatican)!
